Bio:

María Violet is an Indigenous leader from the Nasa community in Colombia, a dedicated human rights advocate, and the founder of the Roundtable of Indigenous Peoples Victims of the Armed Conflict in Bogotá (2019). Professionally trained as a psychologist, writer, and artisan, she also serves as a consultant on issues affecting Indigenous communities, particularly in urban areas and regarding victims' rights. María Violet has been invited to participate in numerous forums, fairs, and initiatives that support her community’s economic development, such as Cafémedinasa and Indigenous peoples' weaving projects. She is also an advocate for women heads of household and actively contributes to social networks.
